The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) organised the 1st CINEA Cross-Programme Buildings Clustering Meeting, on 21-22 May in Brussels. CINEA’s mission is to support stakeholders in delivering the European Green Deal through high-quality programme management.
The event included a plenary session to introduce relevant elements of EU energy efficiency policies and EU programmes, followed by parallel breakout sessions covering three main thematic strands: energy performance certificates, deep renovation, and smart buildings and services. It was attended by more than 50 participants representing 46 projects, from H2020, Horizon Europe and LIFE programmes. The CHRONICLE project was represented by Christos Malavazos from Hypertech.
One of the main goals of CHRONICE is to reduce the “energy performance gap” by offering enhanced and more accurate EPCs based on live building measurements. The project presentation and workshop discussion focused on the main innovations of CHRONICLE in the area of EPC assessment and on automated EPC calculation at the intersection of two digital twin technologies (physics based and data driven one).
Representatives from all projects engaged in fruitful discussions over policy/market needs and potential synergies across different methods, practices and instruments (e.g. SRI and EPC an area in which CHRONICLE delivers several innovations), while also exploring common ground across projects towards identifying future collaboration opportunities.
