WORKSHOP 14.06.2023 – B4P x NEB: Built4People Meets the New European Bauhaus
This workshop aimed to stimulate and nurture collaboration between two major initiatives which both contribute to delivering the European Green Deal objectives: (i) The Built4People (B4P) partnership and (ii) The New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. Chaired and moderated by the NEBULA project, this workshop offered pitches of both B4P and NEB innovation projects; it invited B4P and NEB stakeholders’ communities to collaborate toward an inclusive and positive built environment. This workshop supported the conduct of an initial brainstorming session on a potential collaboration plan over 2023-2024 between the B4P and NEB communities.

WORKSHOP 15.06.2023 – Digitalisation of Energy Performance Assessment to Enable Retrofits
In this workshop, six EU projects came together to present and discuss their work at the intersection of building digitalization, BIM, and AI. The discussion revealed how projects will pave the way to future reference implementations on several application fields, addressing the needs of relevant stakeholders and presenting in quantified terms the short- and long-term impact of the project activities, from policy to practice, and across the whole building life cycle. The workshop showed how these projects will contribute to existing and/or the development of new technical standards.
CHRONICLE was represented by Hypertech in this workshop:
The technological innovations in relation to CHRONICLE’s multidimentional performance framework were presented highlighting the creation of a building digital twin based on real life data and BIM information, focusing on reducing the simulation gap between as-designed and actual building performance. The presented applications of the CHRONICLE framework extended from enhanced renovation tools to dynamic performance rating schemes, through a wide range of innovative business scenarios. At the vivid round table discussion following the project presentations, the project representatives offered their opinions and expertise on the real life implementation and wide adoption of the cutting edge technologies proposed towards a future fully digitalized and sustainable building stock.

WORKSHOP 16.06.2023 – Digital Building Logbooks
Digital Building Logbooks aggregate, make available, and make useful relevant accurate data about the building stock and make sure that authorized people have access. The European Commission and building stakeholders alike agree that DBLs can widely benefit all phases of building life-cycles and be a tool for sustainability and the energy transition. Exactly what they should be, how they work, what they do and how to realize them in a secure way is a topic many researchers and market stakeholders are working on. This DBL clustering workshop aggregated contributions from six EU-funded projects working on the design and implementation of DBLs and/or specific functionalities to make them useful. Projects were briefly presented to include results to date followed by a roundtable discussion from thought-leaders in the field.
