Insights from ‘Unlocking Operational Rating Schemes’ webinar | 14.09.2023

Our project's presentation at the BUILD UP webinar shed light on the intricacies of operational rating schemes and the synergies between CHRONICLE & SmartLivingEPC, two ground-breaking initiatives. By bringing together technical experts, policymakers and stakeholders in the field of building performance, this webinar fostered knowledge exchange and further collaboration.

PRESENTATION

At the webinar ‘Unlocking operation rating schemes: the synergetic added value of SmartLivingEPC and CHRONICLE‘, hosted by BUILD UP on 14 September 2023, CHRONICLE and its sister project SmartLivingEPC joined forces and presented their work on the implementation of building operational rating schemes. The two projects discussed the benefits and opportunities of operational rating schemes as well as the difficulties in their implementation. Following the presentations of highly recognised professionals from the energy and building sector, the two projects came to offer their answer to the open questions presented earlier in relation to necessary actions for the improvement of energy efficiency in buildings. CHRONICLE gave its perspective on how a holistic building assessment framework can be implemented and supported on real-life data, moving the proposed operational rating scheme a step further than energy. Following the presentation, a vivid discussion with all participants took place, in order to address questions from the audience.

ABOUT THE EVENT

In an era of rapid urbanization and growing environmental concerns, the need for sustainable and energy-efficient buildings has become increasingly critical. To address these challenges, the European Union has funded several innovative projects around the topic of building performance assessment and certification, including SmartLivingEPC & CHRONICLE.

SmartLivingEPC & CHRONICLE projects share a common objective: to enhance the measured and operational performance of buildings through comprehensive operational rating schemes.

During the webinar, participants will delve into the methodologies employed by SmartLivingEPC and CHRONICLE to evaluate and monitor the operational performance of buildings. They will gain insights into the metrics, data collection techniques, and benchmarking methodologies utilized to quantify energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and overall sustainability.

The webinar will also further the already fruitful collaboration between the projects. By fostering an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, this joint webinar facilitates the knowledge exchange and collaboration to advancing sustainable, healthy, and energy-efficient buildings.

General Assembly in Dublin | 27-28 June 2023

The General Assembly took place in Dublin this year, where we had the chance to meet the whole consortium over two days. It was an opportunity to collaborate face-to-face in workshops, to visit one of the pilot sites, and to get to know each other over dinner. Here, we share the insights from the Project Coordinator, from the Communications Team and from the Technical Partners.
